The Lancaster Archive launched in Feb. 2015 with the mission to preserve and display classic photographs created by five professional photographers from Lancaster's visual history.
Photographers include:
Lavoy Bauknight (Lavoy Studio)
Bobby Bell (Bell Studio)
Travis Bell (Travis Bell / Creative, LLC)
Buddy Montgomery (Lee Studio)
Julian Starr (former Lancaster News Publisher/Editor)
The collection includes over 80,000 negatives, spanning from the late 1940s through the early 2000s, including images of Main Street, Springs Cotton Mills, Schools, Churches, Athletics and more.
Most photographs in the collection have never been published or seen by the public.
Each Wednesday, a new image is published to this site and on our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/lancasterarchive
