Preservation Tip - Writing on Prints

75 years from now, would you like your descendants to be able to know who is in a photograph, when it was made and where?

It's easy. Just write that information on the back of the print.

Remember, you may know who is in a photograph, but unless you write down the details, your great grandchildren won't know unless you give them the details.

Here's a quick tip when it comes to writing on the back of your prints.

Use a No. 2 pencil. Stay away from pens as they can smear and contain non-archival elements that can damage a print.

Another way to preserve family history is writing on a label that's with the photo, however, if you have a large collection this can take a lot of time compared to simply writing on the back of the print.
