J.C. Penney - 1960s - Lancaster SC
Shoppers browse at J.C. Penney department store in the 1960s.
Located at 300 S. Main St., "Penney's" was one of many retail shops downtown. The chain saw huge growth in the 1960s and 70s with over 2,000 locations across the country.
The store later moved to Lancaster Square. Today, this building is home to Tumble-N-Roll, a gymnastics and cheerleading center.
