The Hub Restaurant - Lancaster SC - 1950s

Many teenagers flocked to The Hub in the 1950s and 1960s for 35-cent cheeseburgers and 17-cent cokes. This popular grill was located on U.S. 521 North in the Twin Pines area. (Photo by Lavoy Studio/Image on File with Travis Bell Photography)

  1. I remember the football team eating there in the early to mid sixties. but I can't remember how often. One time, the cheerleaders got to eat dinner with them. I also remember that one afternoon, the radio station set up behind the Hub, and many of us went there so we could dedicate the songs they played. It sounds tame now, but we had so much fun!!
The Hub also had delicious French fries! As a child, my aunt and uncle would take us to buy a big brown bag of them to take home. Yum!!
    Thanks for the memories, Travis!
